Impact for people -
centering Indigenous communities' voice and leadership

At Raven Impact Foundation we believe that all impact and outcomes should be defined by those affected by the challenge to be solved. Accordingly, we also believe that beneficiaries should be selecting what is measured and why it is measured. Truly centering stakeholders’ voices in Impact Measurement and Management means to shift power from those who traditionally have had money and resources to those who don’t. It means allowing decision making to take place from the ground up, investing for what matters to the ones impacted by the investment. In other words, it means to make meaningful investments and changing the world for the better.

What we do
Raven Impact researches, supports, develops and implements best practices in Impact Measurement and Management that allows for communities to design, lead and own the impact and outcomes we collectively generate through our investments and programs.
Indigenous impact solutions lab

All our investments are built on robust Theories of change (TOCs) that we develop directly with community. These TOCs have their own outcomes, defined by community members and experts. Using a 2-eyed seeing and evidence-based approach, we build our interventions to ensure the realization of these outcomes.

We start this process with our Indigenous Solutions lab, where the investments stakeholders meet to discuss the problem/challenge and opportunity in front of us; the change that we want to see happen and the potential avenues to make the change a reality. These co-creation sessions can last from half a day to multiple days depending on the challenge to be addressed. All the ideas from these sessions are gathered by our analysts and developed into a first draft of the TOC that will then be approved by the community we invest in.

Our Bottom-up Outcomes Fund Theory of Change

We carefully track and measure, aggregate and analyse each of our investments CDOCs outcomes and Impact, rolling them up into the Fund level TOC.
